We stopped arguing about whose numbers were right. The brief is the number.

The problem
Northwind ran its Monday meeting off four dashboards that disagreed. Finance counted orders at payment, the warehouse at dispatch, and support kept its own spreadsheet of complaints. The first half hour of every meeting went on reconciling them.
What they connected
The orders warehouse, the support inbox, carrier scans from both depots and the recordings of the weekly ops call. Setup took one afternoon, most of it spent deciding which Slack channel the brief should land in.
What changed
The second brief flagged that repeat orders in the North had slipped 6% and tied it to late deliveries from the Leeds depot after a carrier change. The team asked the carrier for a recovery plan the same day and sent a win-back offer to 1,140 affected customers. Repeat orders were back above 4,200 five weeks later.
The Monday meeting now starts with the brief already read. It runs 25 minutes instead of an hour.
